Custom Buttons
CorINFO provide a complete set of buttons types that can be positioned anywhere on the screen layout and at any numbers. These Buttons can be customized in terms of Look-and-Feel and in terms of Functionality. For example, a buttons can be defined to point at a specific web page, URL (similar to a Bookmark), or a local file. The use of advertising buttons can be a good revenue generator for the Kiosk owners.
The Look-and-Feel of the CorINFO Buttons can be customized in terms of the following parameters:
- Style: Standard, Graphical, Shape (Rectangle, Square, Oval, Circle, Rounded Rectangle, Rounded Square)
- Appearance: 3D, Flat
- Border Style: No Line, Single Line in any Color
- Graphics-Up/Down States: No Graphics, Default Graphics, User-Defined Graphics
- Animation: No Animation, With User-Defined AVI Animation
- Sound: No Sound Feedback, Feedback With the Default Sound, Feedback With User-Defined WAV Sound
- Caption: In any Language, Color or Font
- Background: Any image file or plain color.
Button Types
The CorINFO Button Types that can be used to perform specific functions and tasks are outlined and briefly described below:
General Button
For performing one of the following functions/ tasks:
- NavigateTo: the Browser navigates to the resource identified by a Universal Resource Locator (URL) or to the file identified by a full path.
- Home: the Browser loads the Home Page Address, as specified in the Navigate To parameter of the button. The Initial Starting Address of the Browser can be different from the Home Page Address.
- Back: every time this button is pressed/ clicked, the Browser navigates backward one item in the history list allowing users to return to any information pages previously visited.
- Forward: every time this button is pressed/ clicked, the Browser navigates forward one item in the history list allowing users to return to any information pages previously visited.
- Stop: cancels any pending Browser navigation or download operation and stops, in the Browser, any dynamic page elements, such as background sounds and animations.
- Refresh: performs a full refresh by reloading the page currently displayed in the Browser and, when applicable, sending a "pragma: nocache" header to the server.
- Scroll Up: move 1 line up the page currently displayed in the Browser. This button can be used with or without the standard vertical scroll bar on the browser.
- Scroll Down: move 1 line down the page currently displayed in the Browser. This button can be used with or without the standard vertical scroll bar on the browser.
- Scroll Left: scroll left the page currently displayed in the Browser. This button can be used with or without the standard horizontal scroll bar on the browser.
- Scroll Right: scroll right the page currently displayed in the Browser. This button can be used with or without the standard horizontal scroll bar on the browser.
- Enter/OK: start processing the content of the Navigation Address Box. For example, a user can enter a URL in the Navigation Address Box and then by pressing/clicking the Enter/OK Button, the URL page is loaded in the Browser.
Change Font Size Button
This Button is used for allowing dynamic font changes. By pressing/clicking this button the text fonts of the Browser, the e-Mail fonts and the Navigation Address Box font changes. Font sizes rotate through Extra Small, Small, Medium, Large and Extra Large.
Language Button
For selecting a new Language. When this Button is pressed/clicked, the Current Language of the Kiosk changes and, if a NavigateTo address is defined, a new information page (eg. the main menu of the language selected) is loaded in the Browser. Any subsequent browsing, button activation and input are performed in the Language selected.
Print Button
For printing the content of the Browser page (whole page or section) or the currently displayed e-Mail Message to a local or remote printer.
Mail Button
For activating the e-Mail send and receive facility (ie. displays the e-Mail Screen for SMTP and POP3 Mail facilities).
Keyboard Button
To Show or Hide the Graphical/Virtual Keyboard of the currently selected language. When this Button is pressed/clicked, the Browser Box is also automatically resized and the physical Keyboard, if one is attached to the kiosk, also changes layout to the currently selected language.
EXIT Button
For displaying the terminal management menu that allows the Administrator and Maintenance Personnel to Terminate/EXIT the CorINFO Application, to view the CorINFO Reports, to Log-off and to Shutdown, Reboot or Power-Down (if supported by the Kiosk hardware) the Kiosk. This Button can be concealed with a NavigateTo information page or URL address which is loaded prior to the EXIT password input dialogue.
