Increased Usability-Dynamic Font Size

Public Access Kiosks should cater for the needs of people with different capabilities and age, as well as, for different locations and environment (eg. indoor, outdoor, locations with low ambient light, locations with sun glare, etc.) Designing the content and the interface to cater for the majority of the potential users of such kiosks is indeed a big challenge.

One of the useful features of CorINFO, which helps Kiosk designers to make their Kiosk content more readable and, thus, more usable, is the Dynamic Font Size. CorINFO provide a Font Size Button that can be added anywhere on the Kiosk screen layout. The Font Size Button allows the users to rotates through the following font sizes:

As such, when a user click/push the Font Size Button, the text fonts of the Browser, the e-Mail fonts and the Navigation Address Box font changes until it reached the extra large size. On the next click/push the font is reduced to extra small. Each user can then choose the font size that best suits him/her.

Connectivity Options

CorINFO supports a wide range of connectivity options, such as, TCP/IP, Analogue, ISDN, DSL and Wireless, and ensures that a remote connection is active only when is required. For example, CorINFO will not establish a remote connection when accessing web content that resides on the Local Hard Disk, a Local/Virtual Hosts or a LAN Server.

Automatic Dial-up

CorINFO provides all the functionality you need to seamlessly use a dial-up connection, thus, eliminating the need of using any third party RAS utilities or applications. The build-in RAS capabilities of CorINFO ensure that the Kiosk will automatic dial-up for a remote connection only when is required, that your application maintains a common user interface and that your application does not forfeit control over to external RAS utilities or applications, thus, maintaining tight and consistent control of your application’s flow.

Option to Hide Scroll Bars

CorINFO provides the option to hide the Browser‘s Bottom and Right-hand Scroll Bars. Scrolling can then be performed with the Scroll Up, Scroll Down, Scroll Right and Scroll Left Buttons which can be added anywhere on the application layout. This feature is normally used on Touch-screen Kiosks/ Terminals that display a controlled set of information with a predefined presentation layout.
